This will make changes to your boot.ini and drop a file called BeOS.bs in the root of your boot drive. The next time you boot, BeOS will appear on your NT boot menu.<br \/>\nIf this does not work for you for some reason, Mark Yen (bemyen@bemail.org) adds the following information:<\/p>\n<ul><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<li>A working Windows NT (I had 2000 Pro)\n<li>A working Win9x or DOS dualbooting under NT&#8217;s boot menu (I had 98SE),\n<li><code>loadbeos.com<\/code> and related files (e.g., from PE)\n<li>Not currently triple-booting NT, 9x, and DOS\n<\/ul>\n<ol><b>Procedure<\/b><\/p>\n<li>Back up everything under <code>C:<\/code>\n<li>Copy the following files:<br \/>\nIf you have Win9x:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>BOOTSECT.DOS<\/code> to <code>BOOTSECT.W40<\/code>\n<li><code>IO.SYS<\/code> to <code>IO.DOS<\/code>\n<li><code>MSDOS.SYS<\/code> to <code>MSDOS.DOS<\/code>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have DOS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>BOOTSECT.DOS<\/code> to <code>BOOTSECT.W40<\/code>\n<li><code>IO.SYS<\/code> to <code>WINBOOT.SYS<\/code>\n<li><code>MSDOS.SYS<\/code> to <code>MSDOS.W40<\/code>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Edit Boot.ini in C: to have something like:<code><br \/>\n[operating systems]<br \/>\nmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINNT=\"Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional\"<br \/>\n \/fastdetect<br \/>\nC:BOOTSECT.W40=\"Microsoft Windows 98\" \/WIN95<br \/>\nC:BOOTSECT.DOS=\"BeOS Personal Edition\" \/WIN95DOS<br \/>\n<\/code><br \/>\nThe first 2 OSes were put in by NT on install for me (to dualboot Win98 and NT).<br \/>\n  Be sure to have the \/WIN95 and \/WIN95DOS switches (even for another Win9x).<\/p>\n<li>Make <code>AUTOEXEC.DOS<\/code> (or <code>AUTOEXEC.W40<\/code> if you had DOS<br \/>\n instead) to something like:<br \/>\n<code><br \/>\n@C:<br \/>\n@CDBEOS<br \/>\n@LOADBEOS<br \/>\n<\/code><\/p>\n<li>Reboot and hope.\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you started with Win9x, you might want to edit <code>MSDOS.DOS<\/code> to<br \/>\n include <code>Logo=0<\/code> under <code>[Options]<\/code> to turn off the Win9x<br \/>\n logo when booting BeOS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you look at the BeOS installation CD from within WindowsNT, you&#8217;ll find a folder called &#8222;NT.&#8220; Within it is a file called addbeos.exe.
